IF READING ABOUT AFRICA DOESN’T SATISFY YOUR CRAVING, AND YOU WANT TO HAVE THE EXPERIENCE OF A LIFETIME FROM PLACES THAT ARE THE HOME TO THE HUMAN SPECIES, SET OUT ON A PRIVATE SAFARI WITH ORIGINAL AFRICA.

SAY GOODBYE TO OVERCROWDED GROUPS AND ORGANISED PROGRAMMES – IT’S ONLY YOU AND AFRICA.

Experienced local guides and expedition equipment are at your disposal and you decide on what you want to see and experience. Or you can set out along one of the tours we’ve prepared for you.

Victoria Falls, Kruger National Park, treks through Drakensberg, Chobe with the largest concentration of elephants in the world, thousands of wild animals in the Okavango Delta or  Etosha National Park, fishing in the Indian Ocean and among the sea lions on the shores of the Atlantic, diving with great white sharks, wining and dining around Cape Town, hunting on our farm, the solitude of the Makgadikgadi or Namibian Namib desert, teeing off on beautiful courses, or just relaxing in the most luxurious lodges or in a tent in the wilderness among the animals – we’re able to tailor this and so much more to make your holiday one to remember.

REVIEWS FROM OUR CLIENTS

Africa is exactly what I’ve seen in TV documentaries – animals within arm’s reach and virgin wilderness. What I’m going to miss are the evenings by the campfire and sleeping in car tents. The guys from Original Africa are great company and awesome guides.

PETR from Soběslav
BOTSWANA

It was always my dream to experience a true safari. The wilderness, people and animals were breath-taking. I’ve travelled all around the world, but this African adventure was an amazing experience.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

SAFETY

Botswana is probably the safest country in Africa. It is the oldest African democracy with the lowest level of corruption and the highest human development index (HDI) on the continent. The situation is similar in Namibia. When considering crime rate, South Africa can be seen as problematic from the European point of view. However, crime is mainly concentrated in certain neighbourhoods in the largest cities. Tourist destinations and national parks, crucial for the country’s economy, are safe. Moreover, an experienced local guide is always there to take care of your safety during your trip.

VACCINATION

This region does not require any compulsory vaccination. The only exception is if you are travelling from an area where an outbreak of yellow fever has been noted; vaccination against yellow fever in this case is required (a vaccination record with a vaccination certificate is required). Other preventative measures may include the use of antimalarials, vaccination against hepatitis A+B and tetanus, typhoid fever, or rabies. We recommend consulting a travel medicine specialist during the planning phase. For more information, please visit: https://www.londonvaccinationclinic.co.uk/travel-vaccinations-for/africa/.

TRAVELLING WITH CHILDREN

This region is full of breath-taking animals and is the ideal place for a family holiday. However, it is necessary to prepare for your trip in advance, especially with regards to the young travellers. We can adapt the itinerary and ideal accommodation so the kids enjoy every minute.

VISAS

Visas to some countries like Botswana or South Africa are not required. To others, such as Mozambique or Zimbabwe, tourist visas can be purchased directly at border crossings or international airports. Some countries, namely Namibia in the South African region, require travellers to obtain a visa before departure. We will be happy to arrange this service for you, but it is necessary to plan the trip at least three months in advance.

MONEY

Exchange rates tend to be quite unfavourable, so it is better to use the perfectly-established network of ATMs and take out the local currency on the spot for a minimum fee and the rate published by the CNB, rather than exchanging dollars or euros for the local currency. The number of locations where you can pay with cards also increases every year. In this case, however, we recommend setting conservative limits in case your card is misused.

We also recommend using credit cards instead of debit cards. Virtual cards, Apple or Google Pay are also alternatives to preventing card misuse.

PRICES

The South African region is a popular destination for nature lovers thanks to the untouched natural environment and the highest density of large mammals. At the same time, it relies on high value-added tourism for smaller numbers of high-income tourists, who preserve infrastructure and the environment without much benefit to local economies. Because of these factors, you will still be able to experience solitude and places that will “only be yours”, but expect to pay a little extra for this experience. Prices for most products and services are at the same level as European prices. Prices in national parks and private reservations are many times higher.
